This site is located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, 43 kilometers west of Cusco, at an altitude of 3,300 meters above sea level, in the province of Urubamba. The climate here is highly variable, with rainy days from October to March and sunny, clear days from April to September.
In the main square of the town of Maras, you’ll find a monument featuring sculptures of a peasant couple and a mule (a pack animal), symbolizing the agricultural activities carried out in the area. The pedestal of the monument also displays images of the community’s main tourist attractions: the Maras Salt Mines and the Moray Terraces.
